As a journalist for more than 45 years (I started young) I have written for national newspapers including the Guardian, Observer, Times and Sunday Telegraph, magazines including New Statesman, the Literary Review, TLS and History Today and medical journals including The Lancet and British Medical Journal. My work has won several awards. I am a Life Member of the National Union of Journalists and a former fellow of the Royal Literary Fund.
