My journalism

 As a journalist for nearly 40 years (I started young) I have written for national newspapers including the Guardian, Observer, Times and Sunday Telegraph, magazines including New Statesman, the Literary Review, TLS and History Today and medical journals including The Lancet and British Medical Journal. I write features, reviews and news stories on medical issues, medical history and history in general. My work has won several awards. I am a member of the National Union of Journalists and the Society of Authors. I am a fellow of the Royal Literary Fund.
